Fog will slow the Friday morning commute across much of the country, while in The Hague the cabinet holds more budget talks with opposition parties. Here is what matters today for internationals in the Netherlands.

ABP and PME pensions could rise

The pension funds ABP and PME may raise pensions significantly. Higher interest rates have lifted both funds’ funding ratios above 130 percent. If you have built up a pension with either fund, through government, education or metal and technology work, keep an eye on their next announcements.

Oude Middenweg closure: officials calm, residents worried

In The Hague, the long closure of the Oude Middenweg has so far caused less traffic chaos than feared, according to Leidschendam-Voorburg alderman Marcel Belt, who says measurements show the situation in Leidschendam-Zuid is “manageable”. Residents and several political parties are not convinced and expect the real problems are still to come. One resident said: “We are holding our breath.”
