This page explains what personal data mylistingo.com collects, why, who else receives it, how long we keep it and what your rights are. It applies to every edition of the site: the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the Arabic pages.
Who runs this site
Mylistingo is run by AI Content Empire, a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) based in The Hague, the Netherlands, registered with the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 42069591. AI Content Empire is the controller of the personal data described on this page. For any privacy question or request, email support@mylistingo.com.
What we collect and why
The weekly email
If you subscribe to our weekly email, we store your email address; the edition you signed up for (country, city and language); the page you signed up on; the date and time you signed up, when we sent the confirmation email, when you confirmed and, if you do, when you unsubscribed; and the IP address you used when you signed up and when you confirmed. We keep the dates and IP addresses as proof that you asked for the email yourself (double opt-in). We use this data only to send you the weekly email. Nothing is sent until you click the link in the confirmation email, and every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing.
Choosing your edition
The first time you open the Mylistingo homepage, your browser asks ipwho.is for your country once, so we can open the right edition (the Netherlands or the UK), and we store the answer in a cookie called ml_country on your device for one year. That request goes from your browser directly to ipwho.is, so ipwho.is receives your IP address; we only receive the country code. If you pick a country or “All countries” in the menu, that choice is stored in the same cookie instead. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in showing you the edition that is relevant to you. You can change the edition at any time in the menu, or delete the cookie in your browser.
Your privacy choices for ads and analytics
Visitors from the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland see a notice from Google titled “How your data is used”. Under it, “privacy settings” (and the shield icon in the corner of the page) let you give or refuse consent for each purpose and each advertising partner. Google’s consent tool stores your choice in cookies on your device (see the cookie list below). Legal basis: this is needed to record and respect your choice.
Visit logs
For every page view, our site writes one line to a log: your IP address, the date and time, the page you opened, the page you came from and your browser’s user agent. We use these logs to count visits (by country and page) and to spot abuse. Logged-in editors and known bots are not logged. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running and securing the site and knowing which pages are read. The log files are deleted from our hosting account after 7 days, and the copies on our own server after 35 days. After that we keep only anonymous totals, such as visits per day, country and page.
Contact form and email
If you use our contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, subject and message in our mailbox at support@mylistingo.com. The contact form does not store your message on the website. We use it only to answer you and keep it as long as needed for that. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering your question, or steps you asked us to take.
Comments
If you leave a comment, WordPress stores the name and email address you enter, your IP address and your browser’s user agent. Your name and comment are shown publicly; your email address is not. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running the comment section and preventing spam. Comments are kept until you ask us to remove them.
Other companies that receive data
These services are installed on mylistingo.com and receive data when you use the site:
- Google AdSense (Google Ireland Ltd) shows the ads. Google uses cookies and your IP address to serve, measure and protect ads. Personalised ads are only shown if you consent in the privacy settings; without consent, Google shows non-personalised or limited ads. Google’s own use of data is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Advertising partners in the IAB framework are listed in the privacy settings.
- Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd), installed through Google Site Kit, measures how the site is used. For visitors from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, analytics cookies are only set after you consent; without consent, Google receives visit measurements without cookies.
- Google Fonts (Google) delivers the fonts the site uses. Your browser requests them from Google’s servers, so Google receives your IP address.
- Google Search Console gives us reports on how the site appears in Google Search. It does not run on the site and sets no cookies.
- Jetpack (Automattic Inc.) provides site statistics (Jetpack Stats, which counts page views without setting cookies), login protection and author pictures through Gravatar. These services receive your IP address when a page loads.
- WordPress.org delivers the emoji images the site may show, so it receives your IP address when one is loaded.
- ipwho.is answers the one-time country lookup described above and receives your IP address for that request.
- Hostinger (Hostinger International Ltd) hosts the website, its database (including the newsletter list) and our email, and delivers pages through its content delivery network.
Google and Automattic may process data in the United States. Both take part in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and its UK extension, which the European Commission and the UK government recognise as providing adequate protection. We do not sell your personal data.
How long we keep your data
- Weekly email: as long as you are subscribed. After you unsubscribe, your record is deleted within 30 days. A sign-up that is never confirmed is deleted after 30 days.
- Visit logs: 7 days on our hosting account, 35 days on our own server, then only anonymous totals.
- Contact messages: as long as needed to answer you.
- Comments: until you ask us to remove them.
- Cookies: for the times listed below, unless you delete them earlier in your browser.

Google’s advertising partners may set their own cookies on their own domains when you consent to them; they are listed in the privacy settings. You can delete or block cookies in your browser at any time.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and, if you are in the UK, the UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- get a copy of the personal data we hold about you (access);
- have incorrect data corrected;
- have your data deleted;
- object to processing based on our legitimate interest, or ask us to restrict it;
- receive the data you gave us in a machine-readable format (portability);
- withdraw your consent at any time: unsubscribe with the link in any email, or change your choices in the privacy settings.
To use any of these rights, email support@mylistingo.com. We may ask you to confirm the request from the email address concerned, and we answer within one month. You can also follow our data deletion instructions.
If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. If you live in the UK, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). We would appreciate the chance to put things right first, so please email us.
Changes to this policy
When we change how we handle personal data, we update this page and the date at the top.
