Availability and pricing tiers

OpenAI is rolling out the o3 models in two versions. The full o3 model is the most capable and is intended for the hardest problems. The smaller o3 mini is a faster and cheaper alternative that still uses the same reasoning technique. Both are available via OpenAI's API, and the company has also integrated them into ChatGPT for Plus and Pro subscribers.
