OpenAI is losing another senior executive. Chief revenue officer Denise Dresser announced she is leaving the company in the coming weeks. She said she will “pursue other opportunities” in a note to her team posted on LinkedIn.
Dresser joined OpenAI in December after serving as CEO of Slack. Her exit comes two days after Brad Lightcap, a special projects lead and former COO, said he would leave. Dresser had taken over some of Lightcap’s work when he moved into his current role.
Dali Rajic, president and COO of security company Wiz, will take over the chief revenue officer role. OpenAI confirmed the appointment in a statement.
The departures are part of a wider wave. Former AGI chief Fidji Simo and former chief marketing officer Kate Rouch also stepped down recently. The company has now seen several top leaders walk out the door in a matter of months.
“We’re now at an inflection point: the next generation of models will change not just how work gets done but how companies are built and run,” OpenAI said. “Dali will build the revenue operating system needed to scale for this next phase.”
The timing matters. OpenAI filed a confidential S-1 with the SEC in June, putting it on the path to an IPO. Losing executives this close to a public listing raises questions about stability. Investors watch leadership churn closely in the run-up to a debut.
Still, OpenAI continues to push forward on the product side. The company has kept a steady cadence of model releases while expanding its enterprise sales team. Its next phase depends on landing big business customers, and a stable revenue leader is central to that plan.
Rajic joins from Wiz, a fast-growing cloud security firm. His task is to build what OpenAI calls a “revenue operating system” for the next generation of models. That is a big job at any company. It is an even bigger one at a firm racing toward a public listing.
