Google’s newest AI model has landed inside its search engine.
The company began rolling out Gemini 3.7 Flash to AI Mode in Search this week. It is available as an option for AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers. The upgraded model follows instructions more reliably than the one it replaced. Google says it also reads user intent more clearly.
Robby Stein, vice president of product for Search, announced the change. He said the model delivers more helpful responses to everyday questions. The shift is subtle for most people. You may notice sharper answers and fewer misunderstood requests.
Gemini 3.7 Flash is the same model now driving Google’s Spark agent. The agent leans on it for knowledge work across Workspace apps. Google reports better tool use and higher accuracy on complex, multi-step tasks. Software engineering and web development also get a boost. That matters for developers who use the assistant to write and debug code.
The rollout continues a fast cadence of Flash updates this year. Each version gets a little better at reasoning and following directions. The higher-end Gemini 3.5 Pro, though, has not shipped. That model was announced months ago and remains overdue. The gap is an odd wrinkle in Google’s otherwise steady lineup.
For now, subscribers can flip the new model on in AI Mode’s settings. The change swaps the model behind their searches without any visible redesign. Most people will never notice the switch. That is the point of a quiet update. The product stays the same while the brain inside gets sharper.
