Private rents rise again, to an average of €1,914 a month
Rents in the private sector rose by about 2 percent in the third quarter of 2026 compared with the previous quarter, reaching an average of €1,914 per month, according to housing platforms. The headline says the increase is outpacing both inflation and prices of owner-occupied homes. If you rent in the free sector or are looking for a place, budget for higher asking prices than last year.
