# Perplexity Expands AI Agent to Windows, Turning PCs Into Autonomous Digital Workers
Perplexity has expanded its Personal Computer tool to Windows, bringing agentic AI capabilities to the world’s most widely used operating system. The tool allows Windows PCs to operate as locally-run AI agents that can access files and applications to perform tasks autonomously.
Like the Mac version launched in April, Personal Computer for Windows acts as what Perplexity calls a “general-purpose digital worker.” The AI agent can create documents, update spreadsheets, and work across local files, Microsoft Office 365, and the web simultaneously.
This launch builds on earlier integrations Perplexity released for Microsoft’s 365 workspace apps and Teams virtual meeting software in May. The company said Personal Computer for Windows aims to bridge a remaining gap by operating directly inside the Windows environment, noting that enterprise work “typically occurs locally on Windows devices out of AI’s reach.”
“Now Microsoft users can ask Computer to work across their local files, Microsoft Office 365, and the web in one place,” Perplexity said in its announcement. “It’s built for the often messy way enterprise work gets done on local machines.”
The tool is rolling out to paying Max and Enterprise Max subscribers starting at $200 per month. Perplexity says the agent does not train on company data, and that Personal Computer for Windows always notifies users before performing sensitive actions like sending emails or deleting files.
The Windows launch puts Perplexity in direct competition with other AI agent platforms targeting enterprise productivity, including Microsoft’s own Copilot and emerging tools from OpenAI and Anthropic.
